In a time where modern technology seems to dictate the tastes and attitudes of consumers, designers themselves are also being influenced by the latest trends in industrial design and architecture. Logos in particular have moved away from the "old school" foundations of good logo design and embraced the Web 2.0 aesthetic. Are these logo designers ahead of the curve or do they still need to be cognizant of the fact that companies are still using print for many of their marketing messages and identity?

A post on Graphic Design Blog showcases logos that show movement. While it displays a decent set of logos, a number of them break from the foundational principles of logo design — most notably, reproducibility in black and white and halftones. While design may be moving towards the digital arena at an accelerated pace especially with mobile interfaces, logo designers should not dismiss print media yet. Some of the logos featured wouldn’t print very well in black and white or halftones.
